What ATF for A6 3.2 Quattro 6speed tiptronic
Hi Guys,
What type of Automatic Transmission Fluid does my 07 3.2L A6 Quattro require? It has the 6 speed tiptronic gearbox, is there a mobil/castrol off the shelf brand that I can use, like mobil 1 Synthetic ATF?
Thanks in advance. RS

Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic ATF is perfect. But you have to flush out the original factory type several times. In my case I rebuilt my tranny from scratch. When I was done, it didn't have a drop of Pentosin Audi ATF. I decided to fill this Virgin torque converter and pan with mobile 1... Car runs beautiful. I have switched out the filter two times this year (just to check for particles) and every time I check the pan, it looks beautiful (no residues and the oil is always bright red and still clean on my rebuilt tranny). I have added 20K miles this year and it's shifting fine and smooth.
In your case I would use the original ATF only because you will have to flush all that **** out and each quart is $7 bucks. Gets expensive. So I would just pay for the AUDI ATF instead of Buying 15 quarts (or more) of the Mobile just to flush out old atf and switch.
But if you want to tackle the project...
Make sure you refill pan (pump in while car is in the air running on drive... pump in atf untill it starts coming out of fill hole. Screw plug back in and pump an extra half quart through the ATF cooling line. Don't listen to the dealer. Mobil 1 is fully compatible. But dont mix them(I don't know of any side effects) Just Flush out old atf seversl times if you are switching...Good luck

While Mobil 1 may be fine for the transmission in the C5, the OP has a C6 and Mobil 1 is not ok for the transmission in the C6. If you don't want to pay the $57 per liter for OEM you can use Pentosin fluid instead for $17 per liter.
