What does a failing N75 feel like?
My 2.7T used to go like the wind with the GIAC chip on 93 gas, but recently it has been getting to 4K or so and losing power violently. Even at 105K miles my turbos sound very sweet and I have no signs of burning oil. My DV's are fine - I took them out and checked that the diaphragms can hold a vacuum.
Today I made the leak test rig and found I had a couple of fuel injector o-rings that needed to be replaced, but now I am left with no unusual sounds, just air flowing into the intake manifold. Unfortunately I still haven't got a proper VAG-COM so I can't read or plot boost pressures. My guess is that the N75 valve isn't working very well. When the power cuts it has a surging feeling which makes me think of a valve trying to open and close??
Has anyone experienced a failed N75?
