I remember reading on here that a couple people have bought the VAG cable and then downloaded the software from Ross tech. What software do you download? Any help would be appreciated!!

It depends upon which cable you have
409 is for USB and 311 for serial.

 

311 works fine with my USB cable

 

Correct, but the 409 is better. So to be more precise USB works with <=409 and Serial works with <=311.

 

I got the software downloaded but now I have no idea what to do with this stuff???

 

The cable should have came with drivers. The manuals for the VAG software's also at ross-tech.

 

It came with everything needed. I'm just not savy enough to know what I am doing.

 

In which way? The software, computer, or car?

try to see if anyone close to you can come show you. Easiest way.

 

I posted upon a local forum so hopefully someone can help. I hook it up to the car and to do anything it tells me I got to register it. It tells me to scan the car and then it it is suppose to give me a code or something? I am not sure but it acts like its scanning then nothing? I dont know? I'm just tired of messing with it.
