Wheel Problems?
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased some aftermarket wheels for my 2000 Audi A6 2.7T. First ,does anybody know the offset of the wheels for this vehicle. The Wheels that I purchased did not fit, they would not clear the caliper, so I purchased H&R DR series wheel spacers(15mm). Does installing wheel spacers on my car make the car unsafe? On ocassion I get the slighest of vibration in the steering wheel but not often. The wheels are 18", tires are 235x40x18.
Your time is appreciated.

Spacers
I had to use 5mm spacers on my 2001 A6 2.7T to mount the 18" OEM S-Line wheels. The wheels did not clear the HP2 calipers up front. I also have a slight vibration, which I attribute to the spacers. I mounted my snow tires, which do not need the spacers, and the car is smooth. In addition, the 18" wheels were road force balanced recently, so the wheels are not out of balance. Only variable left is the spacer.
Spacers are not unsafe, as long as you bought hubcentric spacers.
FYI - The 16x7 OEM wheels that originally came on my car (fat 5 blade) were 45mm offset.
