rev goes down and turn the engine off
Hi
Hopefully someone already had the same problem, or just knows what's wrong.
I just bought a 1999 A6 2.8 AUTO, which has not been used for a couple months. There is no serious problem with the car, it pulls like a bull, but sometimes when i start the car need to accelerate or when i slow down before a junction or a roundabout, the rev falls down and turn the engine off.
I reckon it's a fuel filter, but could be anything else.
Please if anyone of you knows what's going on, let me know and i can sort it.
Thanks

You man need to set the "readiness"
That requires vagcom. If you're a diy'er and able to work on cars, I'd suggest purchasing a cable and vagcom. You can get the cable and program from ross-tech.com. I have read that some people get a cable off ebay and it works with vagcom. I got my cable from rosstech and it performs flawlessly.
I'm not sure, but I think a code scan from autozone or others will display the readiness codes. Someone else can correct me on this.
