wing mirror dips up
 

Hi All,
this is for a 2006 A6 C6 sedan US version
My right side mirror motor seized, replaced it with same numbers motor. Now instead of dipping on reverse, the mirror goes up. Everything else works fine, meaning adjustments go where I want them to go (up goes up, a.s.o.), memory works.

I thought it could be a bad replacement motor, so I took the one out of my 2005 A8 and the same thing happens, and the replacement motor is fine in the A8.
Q: Is there a learning procedure I must follow? Or a reset procedure? Any hints or help?

Found the problem after reading a forum on A3 cars in Wales where they suggested that the mirror, while in dip position, can be adjusted as to how much to dip. Including up to the sky. Now all is good.
