Very much thinking I am going to buy this...
This is sellers ad:
1999 Audi A6 Quattro
I'm selling my Audi after 4 happy years of ownership. I bought the car 4 years ago from a dealer, and at the time I used it for sales calls on customers in Minnesota/Wisconsin and Iowa. It was the perfect car for this, in that it got relatively good mileage (24-26 hwy), was safe (All-wheel drive and 10 airbags!), comfortable (this car has almost every option- front and rear heated seats, dual climate control, Xenon headlights, tape and 10 disk changer, leather, and about 100 other things). The car is in great condition as I drove it primarily for work, and had all the regular maintenance done on it. The timing belt was replaced at 90k, and everything has been running great.
The car has had new brakes and rotors installed last month, and has received regular oil changes. The car has 124k miles, which surprises anyone who sees it or rides in it because it seems much newer. The only things that are wrong with the car are some chips in the paint around the front grill, which is typical for any car with some miles, and a piece of the lower front grill is cracked from hitting some road debris a few years ago- I don't even notice it so I never had it fixed.
If you are looking for a good safe car, and enjoy German engineering- this is the most affordable way to go. This car is perfect for families, or someone who needs an affordable but nice car to take people out or entertain. It is great on the open road, and turns heads in the city. It is one of the quietest cars I have ever owned.
I'd like to see it sell this week, and it is a great price for this car. Please email me if you are seriously interested...
Seller will take $7500. Should I jump on this or is it not that great of a deal?

RE: This would be my first Audi... This a decent deal?
I personally think you can get a better deal. I just purchased my '97 A6 Avant (2.8L w/quattro) this month with only 82K for $6100. I used E-Bay. If you go this route, my suggestion is to use a dealer/seller that has dealt in vehicles for quite a while on E-bay.
Anyway, you asked my opinion, I think there are better deals out there on an 8 year old car with 124K miles.

I don't want to be responsible for your decision, so I only offer my numbers for reference: 2000 A6 2.7T[twin turbo] 6manual, 81k, 11,500, 6 or so weeks ago.
Good luck.

Well, I looked at it and drove. No deal ! This guy didn't take care of it at all. I could go on and on with a long list of what was wrong with this ride, but I won't.
Main things were, paint was terrible, leaking tons of oil, said a Audi tech said the whole front suspension needed to be replaced, every kind of service this and service that light was glowing in front of my face as I drove.
So, the hunt is on. I WANT ONE BAD! Just not that one =)
Thanks for replies all.
