05 Audi A8 Battery went dead, just charged and now screen won't open?
Battery went dead I got in the trunk from the ski bag and I charged it up and it runs. Never had a problem but the radio screen won't open anymore. I hit the button but it doesn't make any noises or anything and it doesn't open. What can I do to open the screen? Or what's wrong?

Does the stereo play at all - meaning just the screen won't pop up ?
I'd clear all DTC's with VCDS (formerly VAG-COM) and see what shows up. |
No audio at all. Everything worked on it before the car went dead. Its also the L edition.

Without scanning it with VCDS there's not much I can tell you unfortunately.
May want to check with a local indie after checking all your fuses. FYI - Don't pull them out to check! Things get verrrrry unhappy on a vehicle this complex when power starts going up and down. |
agree on checking fuses

Audi has a security feature that disables the radio if the power is removed from it. By the battery going dead was the same as disconnecting it. A security code is needed to reactivate the radio. Check the owners manual to see if the initial code is there, otherwise an Audi dealer should be able to help.
