I have a 1999 A8 Quattro with 140k on it. Recently the car will die while I am driving, it does not sputter or die slowly, it just instantly dies. Does not seem to coorespond to asking for more fuel, in fact just the opposite, it seems to happen mostly when coasting or at idle. When this happens I cannot restart the car. When I try to start it later it will start just fine. There is no CEL light that comes on with this. I dont have a VAG COM yet.
I have replaced the fuel filter and checked to see that the pump is putting out fuel. I have not yet checked the actual fuel pressure yet. What should it be? I have also replaced the coolant Temp. sensor thinking that may be the problem, no luck.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
