a8 check engine anyone seen this before
 

my 2001 a8L 4.2 V8 had a weird glitch the other day when i started it for the first time of the day all my gear indicators illuminated and my check engine light came on as i pulled off the car seemed to go in a limp mode .I pulled to the side of the road turned it off & on then back on and the gear indicator corrected itself but the check engine light is still on everything seems fine but the light is still on I haven't had a chance to get the diagnostic on it yet ,but just wanted to know if anyone experience this I saw one other post on this but without any conclusion

The gear indicators is not a terribly uncommon problem. I deal with on my 97. I was told by another member he had it fixed by replacing a sensor in the tras or tq converter. I'm holding out to get a completely rebuilt tranny in the fall.
