A8 L 2004 is it time to let it go?

Hi Folks,

I purchased a brand new A8L 2004 and has always taken it to the dealer for service. The car is incredible but started to require more maintenance. In the last six months I have replaced the two front suspension air bags, front brakes, wheel bearing, and tires! Yesterday the AC stop working and I have reached the point of deciding to keep it or sell it. I do not want to sell it because it is an incredible car (driving it) and very comfortable; however, after reading some of your comments other issues might be just around the corner. Any feedback you can provide to me regarding how to identify the cause of the AC not working anymore? the lights of the AC control work but no noise or air is comming out of it. I need to resolve this soon because I live in Houston and we definitively need an AC down here. Do you have a reliable audi shop that you would recommend in Houston? Thanks! BTW, the MMI screen motor not working properly, trunk motor not working properly and I just purchased a new set of continental tires.

Depends on how much you are willing to pay to keep it going and how much of the work you want/can do yourself.
Since it's an 04 it should have been paid off in 09 and 3 years of payments banked less the repairs you've made.
My more detailed thoughts on it are here: AudiWorld Forums - View Single Post - Sadly about to sell my 06

First thing you'll want to do is run a VCDS scan to see what faults there are.
My guess is the blower motor has failed and I recently read a thread on replacing it.

MMI gears can be replaced with metal ones.
Trunk motor is pretty common - there is an updated part # for it that is stronger/better.

Conti DW tires ? I LOVED those on my D3 and really miss them.
