A8 newb here

hey everyone, i am new to this forum, but familiar with audis. I am purchasing a 1997 A8 4.2 with around 93K miles on it. The timing belt and brakes are being done, but what else do i need to check out. I am not to familiar with what problems the A8 has when milage gets high. It feels as if maybe the front Control arm bushing are worn, becaue when i hit a crack or small bump in the road, i feel a jolt/ sound that makes me think something is just loose. Is this a common problem??
What else do i need to look for?

Thank in advance for all your feedback. I am sure i will learn a lot from this site.

RE: A8 newb here

I had to replace the front bushings and control arm on my 01 A8l, just worn out. It only had 50000 on it when the work was done. I haven't had any problems with it since, 63000 now. On my 98 A8 I have had numerous little electrical problems, all cosmetic. It has 82000 on it and have had to do nothing but change the oil (Mobile 1 synthetic). I would take it to a local dealer and ask for a safty inspection, shouldn't cost to much. Replacing the control arm isn't that difficult if you are inclined to do it yourself.
