Then again, I'm so in love with this car that I might just bite the bullet, get it and deal with the costs when they come. At the moment I don't see any other car out there that moves me. The depreciation is horrible on these cars, given the residuals, and what's out there in the used car lots, but if I'm going to keep it long term, that really doesn't matter as long as I am happy with the car, which I think I will be.
I guess any high end car with so much technology can be expensive as it ages but that's the price we pay.....
Again, thanks for the info!
depreciation im sure that's not the reason you bought the car and what do we call old cars ( now im going back long before you were born and I still love them ) and I manage to rebuild them because I remember, newer cars are easy because they have OBD 11/EOBD and the codes direct you to an approximate problem and that's where the knowledge comes in
if i am correct you have an air suspension...? which would explain the price... and would explain the rough ride all the way around. cause a fault in the air suspension would effect dampning.
Its pretty unusual to have to replace all 4 shocks, if it was the air shock units it would be alot more expensive than thatI would think. I have heard of the airshocks on the phaeton costing $1000 each parts only for example..the phaeton probably uses the same shocks as on the d3 a8...
