A8 in trouble
ok guys and girls,
I ran a VAG test few days ago. Now, for reminder, I didnt drive my car since March this year as it was unregistrared, just few short drives down the street after engine was on working temp every few days in a week. I had to replace old batery in June after it died on me. So, my car was under stress because he lost all electric power. I am hoping that all those problems on VAG test are results of that. Here is test result: VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 4D0 907 557 K Component and/or Version: 4,2L V8/4V MOTR AT D02 Software Coding: 04273 Work Shop Code: WSC 00000 11 Faults Found: 18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected P0300 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 16687 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected P0303 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected P0302 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected P0304 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 17604 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B1 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1196 - 35-00 - - 17605 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B2 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1197 - 35-00 - - 16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low P0102 - 35-00 - - 16518 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: No Activity P0134 - 35-00 - - 16538 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1: No Activity P0154 - 35-00 - - VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 8E0 614 111 M Component and/or Version: ABS/EDS 5.3 QUATTRO D41 Software Coding: 0273004134 Work Shop Code: BB 24302 1 Fault Found: 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Left (G46) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 4D0 919 033 M Component and/or Version: D2-KOMBIINSTRUMENT D33 Software Coding: 00083 Work Shop Code: WSC 00425 2 Faults Found: 00771 - Fuel Level Sensor (G) 30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent 00667 - Ambient Temperature Signal 30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent here is next one after we made restart of the system: ================================================== ======================================== VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 4D0 907 557 K Component and/or Version: 4,2L V8/4V MOTR AT D02 Software Coding: 04273 Work Shop Code: WSC 00000 5 Faults Found: 16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low P0102 - 35-00 - - 16515 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Signal too Low P0131 - 35-00 - - 16538 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1: No Activity P0154 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 17604 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B1 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1196 - 35-00 - - 17605 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B2 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1197 - 35-00 - - VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 4D0 907 557 K Component and/or Version: 4,2L V8/4V MOTR AT D02 Software Coding: 04273 Work Shop Code: WSC 00000 8 Faults Found: 17604 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B1 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1196 - 35-00 - - 17605 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heater Circuit: B2 S1: Electrical Malfunction P1197 - 35-00 - - 16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low P0102 - 35-00 - - 16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected P0300 - 35-00 - - 16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected P0301 - 35-00 - - 16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected P0304 - 35-00 - - 16687 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected P0303 - 35-00 - - 16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected P0302 - 35-00 - - I am hoping that u will give me some ashuring advice... thx |
missfire
Had similar problem as yours,misfires,replaced spark plugs,coil packs,oxygen sensor and nothing,after removing air flow sensor car running no problem .Good luck.

Agreed, disconnect the MAF sensor and see if it improves, if it does, you have a faulty MAF sensor.
|
thanks guys.
what about lambda sonds? can they be solved with faulty MAF? |
Can a bad MAF cause O2 sensor codes? Yup.
|
thanks,
I am going out to dig my silver hog out of the snow..and start to remove those sensors. btw. where can this MAF be? |
Its the main sensor just after the airbox in the intake. It should have a large sensor connector, you can't miss it. What i would do is start the car, and while its running disconnect the sensor, if it magically starts running smoother you have a bad MAF.

ok, cool.
|
i tried to find MAF sensor, nothing on the tube, but found soemthing inside of filter box
 is that it? i left cable unhooked and start engine, but besides vibrations, no CAT light when up.. can i assume without vagcom that i found the problem? |
Oh yeah thats the MAF, i forgot its like a 1.8T engine with it inside the air box, sorry about that. So it ran much better with it disconnected?
