in neutral there was vibrations, but while driving it was maybe somewhat different from last time.
either way, during driving there was no problem with engine, other then when i kick brakes sometiems it would go dead..like idle was too low to handle.

now, shoudl i remove it and try to clean it with something? or is there anything else bwfore i put a vagcom on?

Default 5 bucks to clean vs. a new one

try cleaning it first with some mass air flow cleaner "sold at autozone"

Yes try cleaning it first, MAF cleaner should be readilly available at ANY autoparts store, im sure you can find some. Usually when you unplug the MAF the engine won't run at all, so thats a good sign that the MAF is bad or dirty. Basically the engine is adapting to not using it because it isn't providing valueable information to the ECM.

well, my engine is working even not conected to maf sensor.
vibrations are more considered (or I am just imaginign thea are more visible), trying to find that cleaner , and also torx with hole in it...to remove it down.

i just hope its just residue from not driving around...because the new one costs from audi importer around 500$ ...so ebay or smilar here i come.

does anyone know where to find manual for a8 97' ? i tried over internet and Ingolstadt directly but they dont have it...

The dealer can order it for you, i haven't been able to find one anywhere else. Unless you want a repair manual which you can get on CD (bentley manual) www.ross-tech.com.

i already tried thru official importer and directly from factory in Germany...they dont have it.go figure it..

now, I wouldnt be that what I am, if I wouldnt do something stupid.
I removed whole pipe with MAF sensor (as dont have that torx t20 secure) and tried to clean sensor directly with cue tips and cleaner...
I tried to be very gentle and I had a fortune to brake a piece of sensor for temp, I think..

I hope this is not a final nail in koffin of my MAF sensor...
