A8L Narrow Pedal spacing

Hey all... this is quite the annoying problem. I had no problem with my '04 or '06 A8L, but I just moved up into a 2013 A8L 3.0, and the pedals are too close together for most of my shoes.

It's maddening. Papers are signed, there's no going back, and there apparently isn't a way to address this issue. I test drove a 2011 A8L 4.2, and there's plenty of room, but in mine, even relatively thin shoes rub the brake pedal whenever I place my foot on the accelerator. Some of my dress shoes actually overlap, so I can't wear them and drive the car.

Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions? I'm amazed that they managed to screw up something so basic.

Noticed the same/similar issue on my 2012 compared to my 2005.
Not sure if it is radically different on the 2013 compared to the 2012 or not - kinda doubt, but who knows.

I once in awhile still catch the widest part of my cowboy boot on the brake still after almost a year.
Most of the time I add a little extra angle with my toes pointing to say between 12 and 1 o'clock and it's not an issue.
Seems to happen more to me coming off the accelerator now than when mashing it as it did originally.

Not much help unfortunately, guess it's one of the many Audi quirks we learn to live with

Brake and accelerator pedal spacing

I recently purchased a used A5 convertible and noticed the same thing - pedals too close.
I call Audi Customer Service and they are fully aware of the situation, but passed it off as engineering of the past that never has been addressed and continues to today.
I am working with my mechanic to see if the brake support arm can be removed - and heated so it can be moved about 1 - 1.5inches to the left - without disturbing the overall geometry of the piece. We shall see.
