Accelarator Sticks on 2007 A8 3.0 TDI

Hi my first post-accelarator sticks when floored i.e overtaking and the car speed continues to increase when my foot is removed, kinda scary! Only happens the odd time. It is not carpet matt related, any one else out there heard of this? The car is in the UK, Main dealer said that they have no record of this being a problem

Thats not something that normally happens on audi's, espcially on a diesel model. Our floor mats are clipped in for that reason. I can't say for sure because we didn't have TDI motors until recently, but does it have a throttle cable or is it electronic? Because of its electronic it has to be something mechanical pushing down the pedal or something under the dash is catching the pedal arm. Likewise for the cable near the throttle body. I would have this checked out ASAP as its nothing to shake a stick at.
