Audi A8 D3 2004 Issues with brake lights stay on with key in

Hi There,

Been searching on the forum for a long time. First time posting.

I am having the most weirdest problem with my Audi A8 2004 D3

The problem I am having is that the tail lights seem to stay on when i have the key in the on position or when the vehicle is running.

However, if I switch the vehicle off and use my brakes I notice that the brake lights come on and off as per normal when I use them.

Been working on this for sometime and can't see anyone else with the exact same issue. Is there something particular I can look at? Everything to me seems it is something wrong with the ABS Control Module.

I have attached the VCDS readout in the hope someone can point me in the right direction :)

Just info if anyone else has the same issue!

After a huge amount of investigating and many pain stacking hours I had come to removing the battery out of the back of the car and under neither it looked like water had been getting in to the modules 4e0 907 383 a(Looks to be the trailer module?) and 4e0 907 801(Emergency Brake Module?)

I had removed both modules. Fixed the leak that seem to be coming in from the automatic boot opener module and down onto the lower floor under the battery.

After drying out the plugs for the modules I opened up 4e0 907 383 a and noticed that the entire module had been exposed to water. Resulting in the circuit on the board to be fried. However, I checked the other module 4e0 907 801 it looked that this unit is sealed all around making it not as exposed to the same effects as the other unit.

I cleaned out the plugs and plugged in 4e0 907 801 and had left 4e0 907 383 a unplugged. And now when I turn the key into Aux or turning the engine on. The brake lights work correctly!

Hope this helps anyone else that maybe having issues!
