audi a8 electrically actuated wind deflector noise
When I open the sunroof of my 05 audi A8L the electrically actuated wind deflector makes a horrible noise as it adjusts upwards and downwards. Is this a dealer fix or is there something I can do myself to fix the issue.
Also my backup sensors don't work, I get a tone when I initially put the car into reverse however It never detects that I am getting too close to anything. Is there a way to reset them.

For the backup sensors somehow maybe the wiring for the back sensors could have been disconnected somehow, or possibly could be looked at with a vag-com to look for faults. As for the wind deflector it could be the small motor which controls it. I haven't heard of that before but I have heard of maybe one or two people who have replaced the sunroof motor. On my sunroof only issue I came across is I attached a small plastic piece to the other which it is supposed to connect to, and the sunroof won't close. Leave tiny plastic piece as is hovering about 2 millimeters above the other and no problems at all. psh these audis!

Did anyone fix the noise problem on the deflector? Is there 2 motors for the sunroof, one for the deflector and one for the sunroof itself? I have 2004 a8 and deflector makes a grinding noise everytime it adjusts. I have to turn the radio really loud not to hear it!

Im an Advisor and I have a client with intermit wind deflector motor activation. He claims he hears his motor running all the time. No grinding, just a motor sound like its continuing to adjust, even when at a stop light. Anyone else with this issue??? I have had 2 tech, a valet, and myself driving around trying to duplicate this noise but I cant seem to hear anything other than the speed related adjustments.
