Audi A8 reliability - better stats
 

I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that included actual repair rates. So in late 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.

We've had excellent participation by Audi owners, with over 2,000 signed up, and have been providing reliability stats for nearly every Audi model. But not yet the A8. I'd like to also cover the A8, just a matter of getting enough owners involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the A8, for free.

Closest to getting started with the 2004, 2005, and 2006.

Recently updated results for other Audi models.

Now 76 A8 owners signed up, and the 2004 is two-thirds of the way to the minimum.

Now 88 owners signed up, and the 2004 is only half a dozen cars away from getting started. The 2005 and 2006 are also now both 2/3 of the way.

Man this thread really is itching my spam button, but since it relates to the A8 i'll let it slide.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I wish I had some results to share already for the A8 like we do for nearly every other Audi model. Hopefully we'll soon have enough owners involved to include the A8 in the survey.

Both the 2004 and the 2006 are now only three cars short of the minimum needed to include them in the survey. And the 2005 is only six short.

Thanks to a great response by owners, both the 2004 and the 2006 have been added to the survey. Both remain right at the minimum, so additional participants would still be very helpful for these as well as other years.

Starting this month we also have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.
