Audi A8 - TV Module/PS3/Ipod Etc/MMI

Sorry about multiple threads but i couldnt fit them in same title.

Question 1 - i wish to remove the lock on the TV so its viewable on the move, is this possible using the cars port or do you have to install a module to bypass the system?

Question 2 - can you install a Ps2/Ps3 under the option External AV source?

i have been quoted £220 to install the TV module and install a red/yellow/white phono cables within glovebox so i can plug an external source and select the above item.

can you access this external AV source from the boot? when selecting this option nothing happens so i am a bit in the dark.

Question 3 - TV tuner, i have been ifnromed you can upgrade to the newer TV unit, however this unit is big bucks so i dont intend to do that. can you install a freeview/free sat unit to watch multiple channels?

Question 4 - Can you upgrade the look of the MMi to the latest style 55-59?

Question 5 - i would also like to be able to plug an ipod in and to be dispalyed on MMI screen, is that possible? i have seen you guys do it on 05-55 but what about pre that year?

you dont say which A8 you have, if its a 2003 > with the Screen that pops up
the

1. This can be done with a VAG COM cable and software

2. Yes AV1 and AV2 are available for PS2, computer , DVD etc

The TV tuner is in the boot, however the 2 cables for AV1 and AV2 are not there, you need to install them yourself, its an easy job, buy the cables on ebay for $25 each, take out the DVD navigation unit and you have access to the tuner, remove the large red socket open it carefully and plug the pins in to the correct sockets.

3. Yes the TV tuner costs a lot, you could fit a setop box in, but it wont work as well as the original which uses 4 antennas in the car to decide on the best signal

4. No

5. There are several types available , the Audi AMI retrofit is the best bet, its an easy install if you have the six cd changer, it goes beside or in place of the changer in the passenger glovebox and works like the ipod, you can also use a hard disk, the audi one is 250gb and on ebay for around $100, but your MMI firmware needs to be at least on 3360, or you will need to upgrade it first. the other type is one from Kufatec.
