My 1997 A8 will not start. There is no power to the fuel pump. I ranva test light on it. The relay switch is new and does click when I try to start it. However, there is no sound coming from the fuel pump. The engine will start with starting fluid but when fluid stops so does the car.

 

Hate to break it to you my fellow D2 owner, you have a faulty fuel pump. This job is not for the faint of heart. The actual pump sits inside a housing that sits in the gas tank. There are numerous threads on this issue. Don't try this yourself and if you do and think you have it right, i hope you have a gas tank in your trunk with gas, cause you will need it.
