There are a lot of chips out there, can any one suggest the best? I am looking to increase the hp to 360 or more, I know I will have to do more than chipping, so any other suggestions would be great, thanks.

Yeah nitrous is quick hp, but its not all the time hp. I would do other stuff like exhausr, intake, stuff like that. I would also invest in a set of lightweight wheels.

So no advice on a chip? I would like to do the other upgrades, but not ready to pay for them yet. I would be looking at around $4000 for all that and was looking for something a little cheaper untill summer.

I recommend Speedtuning (www.speedtuningusa.com) which is an Austrian company with its U.S. distributor just outside of Baltimore. You're probably looking at $300-350. I've had its chip in my T-5R Volvo (sorry, Audiologists, but I am replacing it w/an Audi, I hope) for two years and am very happy with the power gain. The distributor has an '04 A4, I think.

I have a GIAC Computer Chip in mine. It gives about 30Hp. They are out of Atlanta. You can check them out online.

I nearly bought a 2000 S40 1.9T, but couldn't find one in black, or stickshift in the area.

I have been hearing mixed reviews on the chips, does it really free up any noticable power? Does anyone know the top speed on a non governed 99 or 01 A8?
