Cupholder Options for 2001 A8L w/ Nav
 

Just bought Gil and am looking for aftermarket options to make the cupholder useful. My daughter is driving my GEN1 MINI Cooper which had a similarly undersized cupholder. There are lots of options for the Cooper but I haven't been able to locate any for the 2001 A8. Is the problem that there are not enough in production to make it worthwhile to produce? The Coopers have everything from an attachment to the downtube to an insert that basically "blossoms" the cupholder into a larger cupholder. The problem is more difficult in the Cooper because it is under the instrument panel so the solution needs to articulate out from there. Seems like it would be pretty simple in the Audi.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I have something that's too big for mine I'll pull out the plastic molding and just use the square hole that remains, aside from that, maybe you could find a new beverage of choice? Sorry I can't offer more than that.

Sorry, I have no solution for you either, but I feel your bewilderment.
I have an '01 A8 w/nav and have always laughed, while I scratch my head...a car of this size and caliber with only ONE tiny cup holder in the entire car. The rear seat only has the fold out "tray"...NO actual cup holders! But I have no friends, so my back seat is just a padded climate controlled trunk :)
