D2 Springs Break
 

Don't recall seeing this anywhere, and my searches found nothing as well. I have experienced several broken springs in my A8s. I have a 98 and a 99. Also stripped a '99 for parts. My 98 has broken 2 front and one rear spring. The 99 broke one rear spring, and the parts car had both front springs broken. The front always break off the bottom coil. The car will sit lower but no other bad things happen. In the 98 I had the PS rear break, and when it did it flew out of the car and bounced down the road ! The 99 broke the PS rear but didn't fly out. This isn't the result of hitting a pot hole or excessive weight in the trunk. They just break, and I recommend regular replacement. Maybe the same interval as changing the transmission fluid ? Anyone else ?
