electrical problem
Hello! I need some help i have got a A-8 and the transmission stuck in one gear and dose not want to shift. When we hook the error reader ont he computer just have no communication at all. Dose anyone has an idea what could be the problem? Thanks. 24 secs ago:(

are the gear indicator lights all lit up? I suspect you are in limp mode. if the code reader you are using is not communicating the odds are you have a bad TCM. do a search and you can find a lot of correspoding information.

One thing you can check is the TCM (trans control module), by removing the lid of the E-box in the fresh air plenum under the hood...the TCM is the module closest to the center of the car (in the E-box). Check for moisture intrusion (dry with blow dryer if needed) and check connections..unplug and reseat. Gear lights (in instrument cluster) NOT hooked up? Limp mode is kicked in by the car when it senses a major trans problem...either internal trans or TCM or some system tied to trans operation...1 forward gear (4th?) and reverse, indicated by all gears lit at the same time in instrument cluster. |
