Electrical Problems, Windows/Mirrors/Signals/Tail lights, Headlight, Alarm, etc,

Hi Everyone,

After getting through the mechanical issues with my 04 A8. I have several annoying electrical issues going on. Just wanted to post and see if any other owners have had similar issues. I will start from highest to least priority.

1. Driver's Headlight flickers and shuts off. If I switch lights off and on, sometimes I am able to keep it lit. But it will flicker/shut off later in my trip. I believe ballast is going, but it also might be related to other issues.

2. Last week I hit the window switch on driver's door and none of windows worked. Only happened once. Now it happens ALL the time. I mean every trip. If I shut the car off, and turn it back on. Windows will start working again. But they go right back down, later in the trip. Mirror controls also are inop when this happens.

3. Fuel Door Button on Driver's Door no longer works. Sometimes if I pop the Trunk button, the fuel door opens. Or if I continue to press the unlock button on remote, it popped open a few times.

4. When I have the lights on at night, a few times during my trip the rear tail light/brake light malfunction will appear when I come to a stop. Sometimes right side, sometimes both. Looks like brake lights still work when this occurs. But I am driving so cant tell for sure.

5. Signal indicator lights on dash often do not light when signaling. I can still see signals working from the outside. Doesn't matter if I have the lights on or not. Happens all day and night when driving.

6. Twice a week at least the alarm goes off for no reason. I can be driving, parked, but it happens most often when unlocking the driver's door with the remote

7. Sometimes I have to press remote several times to get car to unlock/lock. Could be the battery going out. Also could be related to other issues.

sorry about the long post. Just wanted to give you guys the whole rundown. My mechanic does have VAG-COM scanner. But he's not very experienced with diagnosing Audis. He's sick and tired of seeing this car. Im over there every other day having something looked at/fixed.

Car has 207K Miles. Replaced fuel pumps, MMI Control and several vacuum lines that were broken.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I wanted a good place to start before I bring it back to my mechanic.

BTW battery in this car is excellent. it sat for a few months and cranked right up. Has never died, needed a jump start or even acted weak.
