I have a 2008 A8 with 55K miles that I have had for 3 years. My CPO warranty is about to run out in a couple of months and I need advice. An extended platinum warranty from Audi for 4yrs/48K mi will cost $6700 including tax.

I need to decide wheter the warranty is cost effective. What is the cost for repairing items that are likely to fail over the next 48K miles?

For me it is not the cost of the repairs but the comfort of knowing that it is covered. Know that should something come up unexpectedly it is covered and doesn't take my cash reserves that might be needed else where. These cars can be very expensive to fix when they break.
