Folding Mirror Fuse and Motor removal
Hi Everyone,
Just wodered if anyone could tell me where the fuses for the folding mirrors are located or which fuse they are wired into? I have found the fuse boxes on the passenger and drivers side dash end but there is no listing for the mirrors. I've also found the fuse boxes in the rear Nav compartment and above the battery and have checked them all since there is no listing to say what they are.
My folding mirror no longer folds so I'm assuming the motor has gone (v.annoying since it happened 2 weeks out of warranty!), although would be nice if it was the fuse if only I coud find it!
I've lived with it up to now but thought I'd have a go and see if I can fix it or replace it myself so any hints or tips on removing the mirror housing/motor itself would also be appreciated I've got so far but am now stuck, do I need to take the circlip off and remove the large spring - looks as if it will be v.hard to replace so havent done it yet. Presumably need a spring compressor or something?
Oh its a Sep 2004 D3 A8L RHD 3.0 TDi, any help or comments much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Jaime

I have the same issue on my 2003 S8 and I haven't found the fuse but that's what I'm going to check first, then the motor, then the computer module then the wires. That covers pretty much the whole system and somewhere in there is the solution. It is repairable though so keep trying and don't give up! NAMASTÈ
