Gear oil ?? can I use LS?? 75w90 synthetic

Can I use the limited slip (LS) version of 75w90 in my distributor gear? How about in my differential? This is for my 97 A8 4.2 Q. The book calls for 75w90 synthetic. The limited slip stuff is all I have seen at the local auto stores in mobil 1. Will it hurt???

As I understand, that's the only version of Mobil 1 synthetic...don't personally know what the additives are. If they actually increased friction, it definitely would not "help" anything in the Quattro system...all gear work diffs, no friction plates.

When I changed the gear oil in my distributor gear (torsen diff), when I was replacing the always doomed output shaft flange seal, I read the report below and decided on Amsoil Severe Gear (the best gear oil made). Mobil 1 scored a trailing 2nd behind Amsoil in overall score in the test, but they did NOT specify if was "LS" or not, just that it was 75/90.
