Heated windshield washer jets and side-view mirrors don't heat
 

Hi,

My side mirrors don't heat up nor my windshield washer jets. I remember in my '97 A4 that they would turn ON automatically, though they don't work in my '97 A8... Could both elements be burnt (in mirrors and jets?) or do they need to be turned on manually in the A8 ? Is there a way to test them ?

Any help is appreciated, especially for the washer jets... they keep on freezing, I have to leave a needle in the car and break the ice every time it gets cold.

They are supposed to be on any time ignition is on...cold or hot weather.
I'd check the fuses...should be listed on back of fuse panel cover. In newer D2's it's 2 different fuses...in a 97, I don't know.
