Instrument panel in german issues aswell as Fingerprint scanner
 

Hi, picked up my 03 D3 Audi A8 L last week and love the car - slight issue with the vehicle at the moment tho - When I picked the car up the instrument panel was in english and the fingerprint scanner worked but obviously did not recognise my fingerprint. Now tho the instrumentation panel is now in german I put my finger on the scanner, and also on the user setup of the MMI it says the memory is not installed?



any ideas what could of caused this? and any remedies would be appreciated.

Wouldn't the dealer or former owner have to have set that up for you?

no as the fingerprint scanner is not a anti theft measure, it's just for comfort settings etc ( memory seats / climate control / radio etc )

yea, most likely the previous owner erased all memory previously in the module you have controlling the database associated with your scanner (for it to identify which settings to switch to), so you may want to just contact the previous owner on information regarding the vendor they purchased the product from, or just have it removed and replaced. changing the language settings should be a much simpler fix in comparison to your scanner issue.
