Keyless entry system ECU broken, can I replace?
Hi,
I am a new Audi owner and I have an issue with the keyless entry system. I own a 2003 4.2 model and Audi have quoted me £1500 for a new ECU unit, but I have found quite a few of these units on the German Ebay ranging from Euro 99-135. Can I simply buy one that matches the Audi part number and slot that in or will this require re-programming (by Audi?) to recognise the existing keys as well as the fingerprint recognition unit? Help greatly appreciated! Cheers Paul |
Well the unit that controlls the keys isn't the ECU, its the comfort control module which you will NOT find for 135.
I think you will have to bite the bullet here and get it from the dealer mate. |
Hi, thanks for the reply. So these are not correct?

I totally can't read german bro, its on my bucket list of things to learn. It does look like a comfort control module though, the modules in the links aren't ECU's, so you are on the right track i think. As long as the part numbers match up (they have to be the same!) then you can code it to whatever you need it to do.

Sorry about that! Audi have given me the part numbers I need so search is on, but still not sure if recoding can be done - I heard these units are once-in-a-lifetime coded and thus that 2nd hand units are useless.
Also difficulty bonding my Nokia with the bluetooth... wrong MMI version? |
