Looking at buying an A8. Is there a body style change coming soon?
My wife has an A8 (was going to buy it for myself, but she loved it, and had never expressed an interest in a car, so she has it), but I love the way the car drives. It's the best driving auto I have ever driven.
I am very seriously considering buying one, but I don't want to buy if there is about to be a body style change in the near future.
I bought an LS430 (great car, but not the driving experience of an Audi), and once the 460's hit the market, the 430 resale dropped like a dump truck went over a cliff.
Anyone have any thoughts on when the big body style change is coming?
Thanks,
p.s. I still prefer the 430 to the 460. The LS460 looks like Lexus worked too hard to copy a 7 series car.

Well the 04 was the first D3 A8, then they performed a facelift model for 05+ althought the cosmetics haven't changed the engines have. The 07+ models currently have the 4.2L FSI motor compared to the standard 4.2L which has more power and better fuel economy. Audi's tend to have new body designes every 3-4 years so the A8 is definately due for a new body style. I heard they were working on a new design in 06 so it shouldn't be much longer before they release the D4 A8, i can't wait I want one too.

Makes me hesitant to buy
When the LS460 came about, the resale value of my LS430 plummeted. My wife has a 2005 A8, so I will enjoy hers until I see what the new one has to offer. If I don't like the D4, then I'll find a nice low mileage D3 that's taken the depreciation.
