Lowering and Wheel sizes

This post is for Tunershop, and any one else who has lowered their D2. Are there any other Coilover options for the A8 other than KV? The other question involves wheel sizes. Does anyone have different size wheels on their D2? I know Tunershop did on his old one, what size were they?

One last thought.. does anyone have Adjustable Air Bag Suspension on their car.. Anyone thought about doing this?

Thanks

RE: Lowering and Wheel sizes

Well.. It appears I've stumped everyone here , so I went ahead and did some homework which may help some of you looking to improve the stance of your cars. Other than the Eibach Pro-Kit (which I have on mine) which are just un-adjustable springs, there are 3 other Coilover options available for a D2 A8.

They are:
FK kit ($1200)
KV Kit ($1400)
H&R Kit ($1400)

I also found on www.wheelmax.com (who I've used before with success) that they offer Staggered Wheel Packages with ASA wheels. This means you can get 18"s in front and 19"s in rear for an aggressive stance.

Come springtime, I'll probably be looking to do this to mine.

Hope this helps!

How do you like the Eibach Pro-Kit? Ride quality still pretty decent? Did it actually drop your car enough that you felt it was worth it? I've seen the kit on eBay for $275 and about $40 to ship it...

The ride is great.. but I'm not sure if that's because of the tires I have on the car or the springs. As for the stance, I'm not happy with it, too much wheel gap in the front. I spoke with Eibach and they say it didn't sound right either. They want me to get the part numbers off the springs to see if the right springs were installed. I'll fill you in once I get around to doing this. I have a feeling that the only way to get that 'aggressive' lowered look with all 4 wheels having the same minimal wheel gap (.5-1"), you will have to go with an expensive Coil-over setup. :(

I've thught about bagging, but I haven't found any kits specifically for the D2 platform... I keep checking around, periodically, but it will probably come down to paying some shop to MOD a kit for a Merc or a Lexus...

I don't know if I'd go staggered with an AWD auto. You'd most likely decrease your already poor turning radius.

You ever get around to doing your brakes, Gapa?

I think H&R is the best it's ajustable only in the front but takes away the huge gap in the front which makes meaner an prettier[8D]

Nah.. still driving the barge with the bad brakes. I am trying to find the time to do this, plus I haven't decided on what rotors/pads to use. I am either going to have someone do them due to lack of time, or do them myself one weekend when the weather gets warm. I'll definitely hit you up for some assistance.
