MMI update?
I just loaded the latest Navteq map DVD release into my 2004 A8L. It had the OEM disk from 2004 so it was way overdue. Do I also need to visit the dealer to get the MMI software updated or was that update included in the Navteq DVD?

RE: MMI update?
The navigation is automatically updated when inserting the new nav disc, however there have been several updates for the 2004 MMI system which should be done anyway so you should visit the dealer.

RE: MMI update?
Any ideas as to what the latest Nav Disk should be and same for the MMI? How do you go about seeing what yours is currently?

RE: MMI update?
I gaurantee you don't have the latest version. The version is listed on the disc, call the dealer and ask them if that is the latest version of nav discs.

RE: MMI update?
My '04 has the original nav disc in it. If I get the latest nav disc, what other updates to MMI are done by the dealer? How much would it cost to have this done?

I couldn't get my dealer to update my MMI, they acted like I was crazy. I went from 2004 nav disc to the latest one a few months ago without any issues though. I guess MMI works ok, I don't notice any problems. What does the update do or fix? The only issue I am aware of is the Surround Sound volume fading in and out or something. Thanks!

No, you have to complain about a certian issue with the MMI in order for them to update the MMI. An update usually fixes common glitches in the MMI system, like you might notice something annoying while scrolling through the radio stations and all the sudden it goes back to the top of the page, pissing you off in the process. Updates fix things like that. |
Mmi 2004 a8
My MMI has never been updated. What benefit is there to updating it if I am having no problems with the system?

Hill,
Like auditech says, it might little quirky things that you don't notice that often. I have found these issues that get you the upgrade 9/10 times. MMI upgrade
Called the dealer who said that if I upgraded my MMI in my 04 A8 my Tire pressure monitoring system would not work. It currently is not working anyway. Will an upgrade fix that problem?
