MMI update files needed...anyone?
 

Hey guys, just looking into upgrading my 2006 A8 MMI 2G from version 1190 to the latest version. Mainly because my car doesn't have the SD cards that my A4's RNS-E has and all I have is satellite radio. I need tunes!! I'm considering adding AMI but my f/w is too old. I've done tons of research regarding the procedure and have flashed firmware many times, but the hosted files online seem to have washed up and I cannot find any copies of the 3360 or the 4610 f/w. Can anyone help? Pm me if necessary...Please and thank you! I know they can be purchased for like $25, but if they are online somewhere I'm missing, I'd much rather go that route.

The disks cost about $8-$12 each. Here is a invoice from about a month ago.

Worked smooth as a babies butt! Rockin AMI with either my USB hard disk, or my iPod, or my bluetooth adapter for streaming now. If anyone needs help, hit me up.

I am interested in doing this upgrade and have a few questions.
with this upgrade
Will I be able to play songs from my ipod, iphone.
Pair my Blackberry, Android phones to the car for calling and receiving handsfree calls
Do I need anything additional - wires or anything to accomplish the above

Is there a short way of saving my current settings in vcds, so that if anything stops working, I can find out existing values before and after to make them the same as before

Give us some specifics about what car you have. That would help a bunch. Updating these files will in NO way allow for hands free calling. This is handled separately via the Bluetooth module under the passenger seat and microphone in the overhead console. There is a Bluetooth streaming adapter that can be had to connect to AMI to allow for streaming from any Bluetooth device.

I have a 2006 Audi A8, stock MMI 2g(it has the accept before getting into MMI).
I also have stuck cd's, which I am trying to solve .ie get it unstuck.

Just checking back to see if there is an update for me. I had posted the car details as requested

The answers to your questions are all no apart from do you need extra wires - which is yes if you don't have AMI and the cable*, I don't think anyone had the heart.

*You can't stream music via bluetooth on the as A2DP wasn't generally available until the late 00's.

I have a 2006 A8 as well. What is the new functionality from this update? I have a iPod Gateway already.
