Newbie here with some A8 questions.

Thinking about buying an A8 with some issues. This car has for the better word been neglected. A few issues I will need to address.

Q: Has anyone replaced the security glass on the front doors? I found a part for $250

Q: The vehicle has 118K, but has not had the timing belt replaced. What other parts should be replaced with the timing belt? Is it straight forward to change the belt myself?

Q: The transmission was replaced by the dealer. What other major parts/issues do I need to look for?

Q #2 ...Depends on what you consider "straight forward":

Q #3 ...Trans is the biggest, most expensive issue. Fuel pumps are prone to fail at high mileage and leaking coolant pipe at oil cooler...cheap part, but tough fix: http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...reinstall.html
