Newbie Intro - lovin' new A8L
Hey there everyone! Love the forum...have been reading posts and threads for quite some time but never had a good reason to post anything....until now. Thought I would share a few pics of my '04 A8L. Just picked it up from Donohoo Auto outside Birmingham (highly recommend these guys by the way). Only 34,600 miles and in awesome shape.
I look forward to being a more active participant in the forums. Thank!!

Beautiful car - I love it. Since my toddlers are getting big way too fast (at 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old), my A4 is going to get pretty tight before long (I'm 6'4" so I can't push the seat too far forward and still drive), I may have to upsize before long. A8 and A6 are both high contenders. I'd love the A8 4.2 or the A6 2.7T, although I would have a hard time driving an automatic after 11 years of stick shift. Congrats on a great purchase and welcome to AF - you'll learn a LOT here about the car!

Thanks Jeremy! I'm with you on needing the room. I'm 6'6" and have 2 kids; 9 and 4. The A8L is absolute luxury; I think most people are surprised by how nimble it is for a huge car. I've been driving SUV's for 10 years and was dying to get back into a car. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Man, going a decade in SUVs, I'd bet a Crown Vic would be a relief, let alone an A8L Glad to hear you love it. I'm still torn on whether I'd go for an A6 next or an A8 - I love both of them. If it's an A8, it'll be one that's a generation older than yours most likely - doubt I'll feel comfortable taking on payments of a new model. We'll see though - I have exactly $844 of unsecured debt in my life (I don't count my mortgage of course), and both the gf and I are doing well at work, so we'll see. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the A4
The surprise for me with the A8 is not just its athleticism for such a big car, but it flat-out can move when you really put the boots to it - nice that a big car can acquit itself so well in a straight line, and I have enough horsepower in my blood still that those things do still matter
