I took it into the shop last week and my Audi shop (not the dealer) says that my control arm bushings are in good condition and he does not know why the dash has that sound. I am going to make an appointment with the dealership soon. I will let you guys know what comes up.

as a matter of fact i have a similar issue in my a4. from the drivers side it sounds like its from the center of the dash, and from the passenger seat it sounds like its from the far left. theres a clicking noise that i can only compare to the "wheel of fortune" wheel. its only at speeds 20 and up and is speed sensitive. all my suspension pieces are in perfect shape so its not that.i replaced my serpentine belt tensioner because it had a TON of in and out play, but that didnt change it. my car is getting the timing belt service now because the belt was on its way out,so if its gone ill attribute it to something in there. let me know how your situation turns out.

Exclamation

I am at the dealership now and they think the noise is some plastic piece loose in the dash. The arm bushings are in good shape so now I have two shops saying that they are good. Will let you guys know what comes up with this item. Also I am here for the re-call on the inginition coils; I recieved a letter in the mail last week about having them replaced. Look for the letter in the mail if have not recieved it I would call your dealership about the item.

The item ended up being a loose cowl induction piece. They did not tell me which specific piece it was but the noise has not come back.
