Guys,

I just bought the Bentley DVD repair manual and am looking through it. I would like to change the oil in the 2002 A8L I recently bought and damned if I can locate the oil filter or drain plug. Is it accessable?
Any help would be appreciated.

While your at it can anyone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is?

 

You may want to specify what engine you have.... I realized I did not on mine. I have the 4.2.

I also have a 4.2 Liter engine. The says the filter is a cartridge type located on the right side of the engine. I am guessing that I will need to remove the plastic shield under the engine to find it as I cannot seem to see it from above or the side. Either that or they forgot to install one on the engine!! The oil pressure sensor is supposed to be on the right side of the engine, below the exhaust manifold in the top of the OIL FILTER HOUSING!!!!! Perhaps I'll look again. Please tell me if you find it as that may answer MY question.

you WILL have to remove the underbody shiled to access the oil-filter.

never had a need to access the send unit

 

Thanks AWD for the response. I also finally figured out that the right side of the engine is from INSIDE the car. DUHHH!
