Play video on MMI high 2G
 

Hi Guys,

I have just got a 58 plate A8 and it has MMI 2G high. It has factory fitted Freeview TV, Sat Nav, BOSE, DAB radio and AMI.

I have a usb and blue connector ipod cables for the AMI.

Is there any way i can get to watch videos?

I can play the video files through usb and ipod but i am only getting the audio.

Any help would be great

Buy an MMI 2G TV Aux in cable.
It has 3 phono plugs at one end and pins to insert into the TV tuner multi-pin plug at the other. You may also have to enable AUX1 and or AUX2 with VCDS to make the menu options appear in Source.

No, there is no way to watch videos from the AMI.
This cable is Aux-in.
You can watch any video from anything with composite video out such as iPhone with composite out cable, Kivic One, media player etc... but you can't control them.

I have one and it is rather buggy with iPhone 6 / iOS 8 (it was fine with my 4s and ios 7). If you are getting content off 4G it won't show on the MMI unless you use screen mirroring.
I don't know if it is better with android - or maybe wait for a firmware later than 1.2.2.

I have done a bit of searching online and i have came across Dietz 1549 IMU ® Multimedia Interface AUDI MMI 2G and a Dietz 85700BL Car DVD Player with USB Connection which is controlable through MMI.

I then found a Dietz BOA 85600 Full HD HDD Multimedia Player USB SD disks Car Player HDMI. I have contacted the a website to see if this can be controlled from the MMI too.

Hopefully it is as this is exactly what i am looking for :)
