Default Please HELP me with my problem- coolant

Hey,

I have Audi A8L Quattro 4.2 - 2004, and the coolant of my car is leaking right now, 2 weeks in this situation! Now, I am trying to buy a coolant liquid to fill the coolant because it is under the minimum level right now. I bought the car 3 months ago BUT i do not know the coolant he was using before. So, is it ok to use another one or I have to use the previous one?

Please help me with this situation because I do not like to drive the car while the coolant is very low and the indicator/light of the coolant is ON!

Thanks

Never mix any other coolants with G12 (audi coolant) or it can gel up on you.
Just add water until you get the leak fixed.

stop driving it before it causes more damage. best bet would be to check all the internal tubing and replace as needed or just plan ahead to put up the cash to put it into a shop to be safe.

Hey auditech79 & CrazyEights

I do appreciate your helps, and I wanna tell you that I went to VW dealer because there is no dealer around my area. They told me that the whole of top the tank that catch the hoose is broken and the whole tank has to be replaced! The total cost is around $260, with labor is $110 & the tank is $90. To me the labor too expensive! Any idea or suggestion to me, please??

Thanx again

You can replace it yourself if you want, its a pretty easy componet to change. I was gonna actually say to check the tank for cracks because its a common problem on higher mileage engines. Just buy some G12 coolant and mix it 50/50 with water after you put the new tank on. Leave the engine running with the cap off so it gets all the air out of the coolant system and keep adding coolant until the level stops dropping.
