Pre facelift to facelift front bumper...

Could someone pls tell me how this was possible? As you can see in the pix, he put an 00 S8 bumper on his 98 A8!
I'd love to do this same mod, but would like to know what the process is before I run out and purchase a new bumper...

By it's name, a "facelift," for a car involves basically just updating the outer "skin," if you will, and not the underlying structure. It stands to reason that if only the skin was being changed, the same attachment points would remain from the carryover mechanical underlying structure.

Therefore, facelift parts generally are a bolt-for-bolt swap.

Simple.

"Should" be jazz, a tried swapping a set of facelift headlamps into a 98 D2 and it was a no go. The hood and fenders interferred with the headlamp assembly just enough to make it look stupid. For some reason audi changed the more than just the grille and headlamps on the A8, i later found out that the 06 A8 headlamp has different dimensions than that of the 04 D3 as well, kind of makes it hard to modify. If you look closely at the LLtek info, you will see that there are two options for changing the D2, pre and post facelift, because they had to make two seperate kits for them.
