Is it safe to leave DRL with aftermarket Xenon's ?
 

Hi,

I have a '97 A8 with stock halogen headlights. I will be installing a HID kit for the low-beams, but i'm concerned with the DRL's that send less power to the headlights when on (DRL = 80% power... dimmer halogen light, Lights ON = 100% power.. normal light).

Could this affect the HID ballasts?

Should I be better off disabling completely the DRL's ?

You should be fine, if your going to say that, just about every car comes across that problem and gets with it fine. If the car needed more power I think it could manage and get that power to the headlight. It should work fine for you.
