2001 A8: advice needed
I'm looking at buying a 2001 A8 with approx 119,000 miles. Service seems to be up to date with timing belt/water pump/thermo being done. I have not driven it yet and my only concern is future transmission problems. It looks like the 2001+ D2's are better, transmission wise, than say the 1997-1999 D2's...is this an accurate assumption on my part? Any other areas of concern with a 2001 D2?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would definitely say drive it and spend the money to have it checked out at a good independent Audi mechanic, or the dealer. It will be money well spent. I bought my 02 A8 6 months ago, and it has been pretty good. I have a couple of things that need to get done to it now, but the major components of the car have been solid. AND I LOVE THE CAR
