My roof has the solar panels built in.
Does this mean I can not slide the interior panel out os the way leaving the glass in the closed position and look out through the glass?
So far, it appears as if I can tilt the trailing edge up or slide the entire sun/moon roof (interior panel and glass) backward inside the car's roof.

 

Thats exactly what that means but in the summer your car will be cooler because the solar panel will power the blower motor and keep air circulating thru the interior and thus keeping it cooler inside.

 

Thanks! I knew about the solar powered fan(s), but didn't realize that it was at a cost of not being able to see out through the glass.

Is there anyway that you can test that this actually works? It's one of those things that you don't see working you know what I mean?
I've had my A8 with moonroof for over a year and not thought that it's functioned this way once.

Will the solar sunroof in a 2004 A8L also function as a moonroof, or it only a sunroof like the earlier models?

There will be a fault in the system if it weren't working, thats why you go in for factory services so they can check the fault memory for any systems that have gone haywire.

 

Any A6 or A8 thats equipped with a solar panel on the sunroof only allows you to use it as a sunroof. You won't be able to see through the solar panel so audi designed the shade to just move with the glass.

My 01 Allroad has the warm weather package as well. However, it has recently stopped working (the interior fams do not operate when parked) and not the interior is uncomfortably hot after being parked for a few hours.

The solar panel was not damaged, windows are all closed, and the fuse is not blown.

No one, not even two Audi dealers in San Diego, have ever heard of a problem with the WWP.

Any suggestions, before I spend $150 for the dealer diagnosis?
