Suspension question - bushings and such...

So with over 115K on the clock, the suspension on my '04 A8 is certainly not nearly as tight as it once was. My rear suspension in particular is starting to have more play in it that I'd like to have, as I'm starting to have what seems to be noticeable rear toe change when I hit potholes/man-hole covers, etc.

Other than the dealer, are there any aftermarket options for replacing various suspension components (e.g., control arms, bushings, ball joints)? Also is anyone aware of polyurethane bushing replacements instead of the factory rubber pieces? Meyle makes a nice front suspension kit for the B5 A4 at a reasonable price and I'm hoping to find something similar for the D3 A8...

I have seen some lowering suspensions. Try looking there.

I'd really give it a good visual before assuming any particular part...esp in the rear. Really look at the rear springs too.The front takes more abuse and tends to wear more, usually.

May sound crude, but have someone stand in the trunk (or sit on the fender) and bounce the car, while you look at (and listening to) all the pivot points for play is one way. I've isolated a lot of problems this way...with the car in a position to get a view (ramps, edge of drop-off/hill). Parking brake will creak if left set, though.
On front, I have someone turn steering back and forth while feeling each joint (including tie rod ends) individually...all should be smooth..no clicks, clunks or vibration.

This is a place I've dealt with that carries all the parts...all original and cheaper than dealer. There are other aftermarket places that could be cheaper, but I've had very good luck with these guys for quality parts at fair prices.

Not for control arms no, or at least not that i've found. If someone does ever find some, please post them up!

silverd2, thanks for that link. Looks like they have most of the bushings I'm interested in. I'll have to also see if I can use some of the generic Energy Suspension poly bushings as replacements for any of the factory stuff, especially the rear trailing arm bushings.
