Do it now before you regret it, if the belt breaks you WILL damage your engine meaning a 10k+ repair. When you do the belt, change the water pump, thermostat, rollers and tensioners. Better to be safe than sorry, most belts break in the 90k range.
TT's have broken belts in the 60k's.

What did the dealer charge you for the timing belt replacement? Did you do the water pump also?

I was assuming the service interval was 80k. I just called the local Audi dealer and they told me the service interval for the timing belt is 105k.

Thats the recommendation, but unless you want to pay for engine damage due from a broken timing belt i would do it no later than 90k.

hmm, well, i know, AUDI prescribed replacement in 105K miles. If crack before, it's should be AUDI take responsibility for fixing.

Audi won't take any responsibility for broken timing belts, but i have heard they have released a TSB or recall to give a free inspection of timing belts before the 105k mark to make sure its ok.
