Timing Info Needed for 4.2 in '99 A8
 

Hello everyone. Looking for schematic, or even just a text description if someone would be so kind, as to where everything should be when the engine is at TDC on the 4.2 in a '99 A8.

I know there is a mark on the crankshaft pulley that lines up with a marker, but I am more concearned with the camshafts on both sides of the engine. I see a DOT on each cam gear and am wondering if they should be lining up across from each other, or if they should be aligned with something else.

...I would like to add that the Valve Covers are removed if that wasnt understood. Would I still need the Audi tools for timing if the valve covers are removed since I can see marks (Holes) on the cam sprockets?
